How do you stop getting ingrown hairs from waxing or epilating?

The best thing to do is;

before waxing ensure that you have exfoliated

exfoliate regularly every 3-4 days

you could use a product called Ingrow Go - an Australian product that you apply a day before waxing and then every 2-3 days after

I have now gone for permanent hair removal - Pulsar which works a treat and my skin is the softest that it has ever been - no ingrown hairs.

after waxing, use a a cream like hydrocortisone to reduce swelling and irritation. Then use Tend Skin, this product is specifically for ingrown hairs. It can be found in spas and some beauty supply stores.
Exfoliate immediately after treatment and use a mild cleansing scrub.

My girlfriends says, keep your skin clean, and exfoliate.
Tea tree oil gel to try to prevent em happening, and if they do get in there quick with the tweezers and pluck the offending hair out.
