Is it safe to wax or epilate stomach hair during pregnancy?

I'm 19 weeks along and have grown alot more hair on my stomach - is waxing or epilating safe or not?Is it safe to wax or epilate stomach hair during pregnancy?
according to my doc, no waxing is necessary. It will go away after you deliver. And from the sound of it, excess hair sounds like higher testerone levels...(boy)

I am really sorry but I cant find anything what so ever on this subject. I wouldnt do it though, just to be on the safe side until you get a chance to speak to your midwife, I usually shave mine lol
I think waxing is safe but you should ask your doctor before doing it.
im not sure if you can , however when i was pregnant i had the same thing , and although i had my legs waxed , bu tthe beauty therapist wouldnt wax my stomach , she said it was no possible , and would go , and most of it did,so unless the rules have changed its not safe , to be honest i foudn things even more sensitive during pregnancy , and if you were to try to epilate your stomach it may well be very very painful more so than normal.


Perhaps you could just bleach it with jolen until you deliver...?

can i add please don tshave it i did , it then wont go at all as you have stimulated the folicle more , if you shave it now you will have to shave it for ever , if you can put up with it......obviously its up to you but i never had a hairy stomach until i shaved as i coudlnt wax , it then didnt go away so now i have to epilate it all the time and its getting better , just to clarify my youngest of 3 babies is 6 now....and that is years....lol so please try to just ignore it some how until you deliver....
i wouldnt i have the same problem but if your that worried shave it dont wax it. i think sometimes in motherhood you have to do things you dont want to i know it doesnt make you feel sexy or anyhthing but once your little one is here then is the best time becasue you dont have to worry about harming her or him. good luck and congrads

Are you dead set on waxing? If so, move on to next answer...if not, but you want all the hairs gone then I know a different way. I use a cream remover by GIGI made for your face. You can buy it at your local Sally's in the hair removal/waxing section. You wet the place where you want to remove hair, put the cream on that area, wait 8 minutes then wipe off. The package I bought came with this cream to use afterwards to calm your skin. I used to wax but I ran into the problem you have and another where I have super sensitive skin and might have a tiny pimple come on the waxed area...hurt like a mofo! Anyways, I like the cream. It's really easy to use and you can't really miss any spots. Good luck to you.

Waxing is the best because it is the fastest, and there usually isn't any irratation when you get it professionally done. Hair removal cream smells bad and usually ends up burning your skin or not getting all of the hair off.
Pluck away! Creams can break out and cause in grown hairs. Shaving causes them to feel really rough and corse as they grow back in.
Waxing. Those creams are more irritating to your skin and not as effective in removing all the hairs. Plus, with waxing, it's a longer time between regrowth and after a few times, the hair will become finer and fewer.

I just tried my first home waxing kit to remove underarm hair and it didn't go so well! I followed the instructions, which included directions to do the lower and upper half of the armpit separately because of the size of the wax strip, and to not go over the same spot twice. Once I finished ripping the strips off a lot of hair was left over! Any tips on what I can do next time to make sure all the hair gets removed instead of leaving little sections? I'll probably have to shave in a few days and try again in a few weeks.

There is no hair removal method that makes hair grow thicker or darker, that is a myth. Threading is definatly better although i'd say that bleaching would be even better than that as you wont need to keep removing it and it wont notice!
You should get it waxed...threading is much more painful and the hairs grow back faster.


Although waxing is cheaper and faster the hair does grow back...and you should probably be ready to pluck it or get it waxed regularly.

THREADING WOULD TAKE MUCH TO LONG IF YOU HAVE NO PROBLEM KEEPING UP WITH IT YOU COULD WAX IT OR SHAVE IT BUT YOU GOTTA KEEP UP WITH IT BECAUSE IT WILL GROW DARKER AND SOMETIMES THICKER SO ITS UP TO YOU IF ITS NOT THAT BAD JUST DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT
oh yes. threading does not pull ur skin. it only pulls out the hair

you can try drop a bigger puddle of wax on top of it then try to peel it off nicely.





or you can just try heat up that piece of wax on the floor with a lighter and try peel it off.





or some kind of clorox.
use alcohol ! if that doesn't bring it up put a damp towel over it and use an iron, that should melt it enough to come up. then use the alcohol again to remove the rest...

If you want hair to grow back slower don't use a shaver UNLESS you are willing to do it every day. I use hair remover cream on my upper lip because I don't have time to do that everyday.
